Hi, I’m Ashley — born and raised in Laguna Hills, California, now proudly baking on Blackberry Lane in Bettendorf, Iowa. I traded palm trees for cornfields five years ago and found something I didn’t know I was missing — community, quiet mornings, and the kind of life that lets you breathe.
I’m a breast cancer survivor and a Le Cordon Bleu Pasadena graduate who’s spent a lifetime around food — learning, tasting, teaching, and finding comfort in the rhythm of the kitchen. After cancer, I promised myself that everything I created would come from a place of gratitude and care. So now, every loaf, scone, and cinnamon roll starts with real, wholesome ingredients — organic flour, grass-fed butter, PFA-free filtered water, and a lot of love.
Baking has always been my way of slowing down, connecting, and bringing people together. It’s equal parts art, therapy, and rebellion against a world that moves too fast. I don’t believe in shortcuts — I believe in long ferments, butter-streaked bowls, and mornings that smell like cinnamon.
This bakery is my way of sharing that piece of life — the one where things rise, rest, and turn out beautifully imperfect.

MEET HANK
And, there would not be a Blckberry Lane bakery without Hank. Meet Hank - my long-standing sourdough starter — a reliable, endlessly hungry Midwestern gentleman who’s been bubbling away since our early days on Blackberry Lane. He’s a morning person, a heavy eater, and the heart of nearly every loaf that comes out of my oven.
Feed him well, and he’ll rise to any occasion — literally.
